We’ve designed and built houses and furniture, swimming pools and clothing. We’ve written several books, and sold over a third of a million DIY plans to project builders all over the world. Our roots are deeply embedded in the practical knowledge we’ve gained over the years, and our principles, core philosophies and goals are a distillation of those many years of experience.

Creativity and innovation are a unique blend of art and science, but in the end, we’ve learned that the measure of good design — whether it’s a spaceship or a teapot — comes down to one word: performance.

Cordion Corporation is a company with a deep creative background and a desire to solve problems. We are — first and foremost — designers. We like making things work better, whether starting from scratch with a brand new concept, or solving existing problems. Our strongest passions lie in blending new technologies with traditional sensibilities, and our extensive historical perspective allows us to have a better idea of when to use new approaches to a solution, and when there’s a perfect path to follow from the past which may have been overlooked or forgotten.

Our family design heritage stretches back well over a century and includes the creation of fundamental technologies in the automotive, medical and textile industries. Cordion Corporation is building on this heritage, as well as on its more recent 50 years of innovation which have allowed us to design—and—build projects that run the gamut from electric racing and consumer cars for corporate sponsors, to more than 40 different types of power and sailboat prototypes, as well as a wide range of experimental boat designs, including several solar-electric catamarans to HYSWAS experimental hydrofoils.

Cordion’s folding panel technology continues our legacy of high performance innovation, and we are eager to continue creating products and systems that are not only unusual and beneficial, but capable of solving real-world challenges.
